Here begins...
Welcome to the first post of my blog. I write this for a few reasons. First, to start putting a lot of my thoughts and personal gaming experience into words to be shared with others, and secondly, as a way to step back from the endless doom-scrolling of social media, and focusing more on creating.
I have been involved in the tabletop scene for a relatively short time compared to many other bloggers out there. My friends and I delved into Cyberpunk 2020 back when the PC game was first announced. This fell to the wayside after a while, but we once again jumped back into tabletop games as a way to deal with the boredom and isolation during the pandemic. Since then, we have continued to play across four different games and just as many rulesets.
Being the forever-DM of my group, I stumbled across the OSR movement and immediately felt a strong connection with the DIY ethos. I have worked as an illustrator in the past, and was involved with the Brisbane punk and hardcore scene back in the early 2000's, producing band merch and gig posters. The shared love of zines and self-produced works instantly got me hooked.
I am now in the midst of writing my own OSE adventure and I aim to use this space for sharing the process.
