Your Own Hill To Die On
In the spirit of Prismatic Wasteland’s year of the beta, I’m releasing a playtest of my first OSE Adventure, A Hill To Die On.
It’s a 60-key romp through a haunted crypt featuring undead knights, vengeful ghosts, and an eldritch horror lurking in the depths.
I’m now using my time to add illustrations and a village location, full of doomed villagers. I will also tweak the adventure based on feedback received.
The motivation for this adventure was two-fold:
- Design a dense, interactive adventure with the verbosity of classic modules, but the modern sensibilities of OSE.
- Give my typesetting abilities a real workout with minimal yet accessible page design.
So far this has taken me over two years on-and-off to write. During that time I've become a dad, changed careers and learned a helluvalot about adventure writing.
I will talk more about the design decisions in the future, but for now, please enjoy A Hill To Die On, and let me know your feedback if you end up using it!
